Standard Courier is the daily workhorse for non-urgent legal deliveries. A pickup window opens the same business day you book; delivery completes by the next business day. Every leg is GPS-tracked from pickup through handoff, with a signature captured from the recipient (clerk, paralegal, custodian, opposing counsel's office) and a photo of the delivered packet on arrival. Use Standard Courier when the document does not need to be hand-delivered today but does need a documented chain of custody — judge's chambers courtesy copies on routine motions, ex parte applications filed in advance, county recorder packages, opposing counsel discovery deliveries, or any time you need more than tracking-only USPS or FedEx and less than a same-day runner. If the courier hits a closed door or refused-accept at the destination, you are notified inside an hour with a photo and time-stamped attempt log. We hold the packet at our office overnight at no charge and re-attempt first thing the next business day, or escalate to a Same-Day Courier on your authorization.

Is a courier delivery the same as service of process?

No. Service of process requires a registered process server and a court-admissible affidavit (see Standard / Rush / Expedited). Couriers deliver documents under a chain-of-custody log; signature and photo proof are recorded but are not a POS.

How is this different from FedEx or UPS?

GPS chain of custody, signature capture on a Servd device, photo of the handoff, and live status in your dashboard — none of which carriers offer. Pricing is also flat by SLA tier, not by weight or zone.

What if the recipient is closed?

You are notified within the hour. We hold the packet overnight at no charge and re-attempt at open the next business day, or escalate to Same-Day or Rush Courier on your authorization.

Can I use Standard Courier for last-minute filings?

No — for filing windows that close today, use Rush Courier (2-hour SLA) or Same-Day Courier (4-hour SLA). Standard is for next-business-day workflows.
